Welcome to the new Gainesville Florida Jaycees Website!
The Junior Chamber of Commerce or "Jaycees" is a "constructive action organization of young persons who devoted a portion of their time to community service in the public interest, developing young persons as leaders of their community".
The Gainesville Jaycees were formed in 1943 to meet the growing demand for service through leadership by young professionals. Over the years, the Gainesville Jaycees have raised millions of dollars for local charities and continue to provide the local community with an influx of leaders and visionaries. The Gainesville Jaycees of today continue that proud tradition with an active network of young professionals and community involvement.
The NHRA Gatornationals provide the backdrop for the Gainesville Jaycees largest fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from this event enabled the Jaycees to donate over $25,000 to local and statewide charities including hurricane relief during 2004. Through an agreement with Alachua County, the Jaycees have secured rights to the campground facilities near the event. Using thousands of hours of member donated labor, many of the campsites now contain running water.
Choosing to stay at the Jaycee Campgrounds during the Gatornationals affords both fans and teams the benefit of the nearest facilities to the host track for the event the Gainesville Raceway. The campgrounds will open on the Monday prior to the start date with a minimum stay through Sunday. The campgrounds will officially close on Monday. All sites are first come, first serve, and there are no reservations. Please see our Gatornational Camping Rates. Ice will be available for purchase and campfires will be permitted unless an "Alachua County Burn Ban" is in effect. Click Here for Rules Brochure.
